Recently, LONGi participated in the Earth Hour event sponsored by Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade as partner of EVNFC (EVN Finance), and provided LONGi's product of high-efficiency mono-crystal photovoltaic component for this event.
LONGi was the only photovoltaic enterprise participated to the Earth Hour event held by Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade. This event, with the theme of " Save Energy, Save Earth", was held in August Revolution Square in Hanoi, Vietnam. Sponsored by Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade, such events have been carried out in Vietnam for 11 consecutive years and are supported by many enterprises, of which Vietnam Electricity (EVN) is the main sponsor.
Before the opening of the event, Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, Vice President of Socialist Republic of Vietnam, stressed in his speech that since Vietnam is rated as one of the countries most seriously affected by climate change, energy conservation is a practical way to meet our international commitment to deal with climate change. At the same time, he spoke highly of the achievements of LONGi in the photovoltaic field and expressed gratitude to LONGi for its efforts to promote the development of clean energy industry in Vietnam, hoping that LONGi could deepen the cooperation with relevant units and departments in Vietnam and contribute to Vietnam's energy industry development.
According to the report of Vietnam News Agency, in the "Earth Hour 2019", lights were switched off from 20: 30 to 21: 30 on March 30. Many regions in Vietnam responded positively to the campaign, saving 492,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity, equivalent to 917 million dong. Compared with 2018, this year has saved extra 7,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity (about 485,000 kilowatt-hours in 2018, equivalent to 834 million dong).
As partner of EVNFC, LONGi has established close cooperation with EVNFC since the beginning of the planning to enter Vietnam market. At present, as the finance company directly managed by EVN (Vietnam Electricity Company), EVNFC has a practical plan to promote the Viet Nam rooftop Solar market with strong financial support. This event will further deepen the cooperation between the two sides and play a vital role in developing the Vietnam market.
As a leading comprehensive service provider in photovoltaics worldwide, LONGi takes Vietnam as one of the overseas key markets. LONGi will jointly promote the development of Vietnam's clean energy industry with relevant local government departments and enterprises such as Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and provide comprehensive photovoltaic plan and products for Vietnamese authorities to cope with climate change and realize the integration of clean energy and green industry.
Earth Hour is a global energy-saving campaign proposed by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in response to global climate change. People would turn off unnecessary lights and electricity-consuming products in houses and stores for one hour to show their support for actions against climate change. "Earth Hour" was first held in Sydney, Australia at 8: 30 p.m., March 31, 2007. Nowadays, about 7,000 cities from 172 countries and regions have participated in this event. Initially held in Vietnam in 2009, the event has become one of the largest commonweal activities in Vietnam.
